"Does anyone ever answer the phone on this ward?"

About: Cheltenham General Hospital Cheltenham General Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

Elderly father admitted to Cheltenham Hospital following a fall. Now on Ryeworth Ward. Does anyone ever answer the phone on this ward? Tried 17 times in one day with phone just ringing till cut off. Appalling. I don't live in Cheltenham so it's imperative for me to actually speak to someone. No communication re his diagnosis or plan of care. Not impressed.

Hi there,

Thank you for getting in touch to share this feedback with us. We're concerned to hear about the communication issues you've had with the ward. They are likely to be very busy at this time of year, but it is important that you are able to speak to them to discuss your father's care. If you haven't done so already, we would encourage you to contact our patient liaison (PALS) team who will be able to contact the ward on your behalf with the aim of resolving the issues you've experienced so far. You can call them on 0800 019 3282 (Free phone) or email pals.gloucestershirehospitals@glos.nhs.uk Many thanks again for bring this to our attention. Best wishes The team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
