"Nothing really"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

(as the patient),

What I liked

Nothing really

What could be improved

Staff passing on information properly, and general common sense.

Anything else?

I was diagnosed with a appendicitis and was booked in a ward to await theater, before I went to theater I was not told to wash with your antibacterial wash (so I didn’t) as I went into theater to be anesthetized they gave me my first lot witch made me feel tired and then it was to be the injection to put me sleep as they were preparing they put an oxygen mask on my face which was NOT turned on and I couldn’t breath I had to break free to let them know then it was turned on, after my operation I was taken to ward 7 where my drip was taken off for a bottle of paracetamol as my temperature was high when the bottle finished I asked a nurse several times to connect my drip back up her response was "you won’t die because you’re missing a bit of fluid" and she walked away, another nurse did it in the end, then I was overdosed with codeine I should of had 30mg where they gave me 60mg, after my operation I have serious pain in my abdomen and I also have an infection, I’m really disappointed in the Royal Infirmary and to think they hold your life in their hands, if my complications were as a result of the operation and the way things were carried out I will take it further.
