"Fantastic service"

About: Southmead Hospital

From arrival (on the ED then assessment unit) to departure all my care was outstanding as was the support given to my husband.

I arrived due to severe chest pain and was so well cared for and monitored. The staff were friendly to me and to each other. They showed so much respect and patience for patients with dementia who required alot of attention.

After hearing so many negative reports about the hospital it was great to experience such 1st class care.

My only complaint is that I was, as a result of my hospital visit, sent for an outpatients Ultra Sound scan almost 7 weeks ago. Was told the results would take 2/3 weeks but still waiting.

Have no consultants name or contact number on my discharge letter so I can only hope that no news is good news.

Response from Southmead Hospital

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for your very kind comments, which we will feed back to the ED and assessment unit, as it is always lovely to receive such positive feedback.

With regards to the results of your scan, if you can contact us at Complaints@nbt.nhs.uk, with your full details (name, date of birth etc), and provide details of the date you attended for your scan, one of our team will look into what is happening with your results.

Kind regards Sue Needs, Deputy Advice & Complaints Team Manager.
