About: Chase Farm Hospital

(as the patient),

What could be improved

I had major surgery at a different hospital and needed my staples removed unfortunatly my dr's surgerys nurse was off sick so I had to go to chase farm. I spoke to reception and they told me to see the sister in A&E when i told her she replied "I couldnt possibly remove your staples" How silly I could of done them myself! Was taken round to fracture clinic and seen very quickly. When i went in it absolutly stank of urine and feaces! I was discusted and very worried as i had open wounds. The nurse that cleaned my wounds used the same swab to clean all of them spreading any potential infection.

Anything else?

Clean the areas and use common sense when cleaning open wounds!

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. The Trust takes Infection Control and hygiene very seriously and would like to apologise that you had cause for concern. Your feedback will be brought to the attention of the relevant staff in A&E and the Fracture Clinic.
