I arrived at the urgent care centre expecting a long wait to find out what I had done to my elbow when I had slipped and fallen backwards on wet, stone steps. Instead i was efficiently registered as I was holidaying in the area, taken straight through to triage and then to a doctor, who decided I needed an x-ray. Another department, but still only a 5 minute wait and the radiographer was lovely - explaining why they needed my arm in certain positions even though it would be painful! This confirmed a radial head fracture - I was treated, the process for visiting my home town fracture clinic explained, and on my way. My husband even managed to get us bacon sandwiches from the canteen - but I ate mine after I was finished as there was no waiting time during the process. Fantastic staff and treatment from start to finish. Thank you.
