"Makes a difference when carers take an interest"

About: East Ayrshire Council Care At Home & Housing Support Service (North Locality)

(as a service user),

I have carers from East Ayrshire council three times a day. The carers used to come to look after my husband then after he died I fell and broke my hip and now the carers have started coming to help me.

The two girls in the morning couldn’t be better, they are very thorough. All the girls are nice though. It makes a difference if the girls are cheery and if they take an interest in what I’ve been doing.

The girls do tend to fly in and fly out. It would be good if they had more time. I don’t know how they get everything done, they are always so busy and they seem to be getting more and more to do.

Dear toastie

Thank you for your positive feedback about the carers coming in to provide support, they are cheery and listen to your views. It is good to note the morning carers are very thorough with the support they provide.

I note that the carers, at times, can be busy and seem rushed and it would be better if they had more time. My contact details are Catriona Barr Team Manager (01563-554268); it would be helpful if you could contact me as I would really like the opportunity to talk with you further about the support you receive from carers. Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you.

Catriona
