I promised I would update St Bart's after I had my bypass surgery, well I am back at home now after having it.
My surgery went well but I had a couple of problems afterwards, but the Intensive Care Unit and the ward team got me through them. The care and attention I received was second to none from all involved in my care. What a dedicated lot they are at St Bart's.
I can't thank them enough but will try to show some appreciation here by way of this review.
I will start with my surgeon, what a great job they have done on putting my heart problems right! When I was low on the Friday I saw the consultant and they told me they would have me "rocking and rolling" by Monday. The consultant said "you don't believe me do you" I replied no. Well the consultant was spot on and I was discharged on Monday and had to apologize to them for having any doubts! Thank you from the bottom of my now fixed heart!
Next I must mention the member of staff who dealt with my pre-admission what a lovely person, kind and thoughtful.
I do not know the names of those who looked after me in IT as I was out of it most of the time. My sincere thanks go to them for the care they gave me that saw me through the worst of things. I can't thank you all enough whoever you were.
I was transferred to ward 4A what a great bunch they are who work on this ward.
I must thank one and all, forgive me for not remembering all your names. I have to mention one dedicated nurse who looked after me on the Saturday, gave me my first shower and gave me some confidence after feeling so ruff. The nurse's level of commitment to their patients is to be applauded. I can't thank you enough for the care and attention you gave me a debt I can't repay to you or the rest of the ward 4A team. Thanks you all from the bottom of my fixed heart.
St Bart's you should be nothing short of proud regarding the care you give your patients. This one will be eternally grateful that you dealt with my treatment.
My thanks got to everyone concerned in my care, thank you all for giving me my life back.
I hope whoever deals with these reviews will make all concerned aware that my thanks have been registered here and will be expressed when I attend clinic in December.
Thanks St Bart's
