Phone call to x-ray department at 1pm on 5th November - I needed to get copies of some x-rays I had had done, so phoned the x-ray department at Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital to action my request.
One of the radiographers answered (I recognised the voice) and to say they were unhelpful and uncooperative would be an understatement.
I explained what I needed and was told in a very rude/curt manner - "well we cant give them to you, you will have to contact Medway and you will have to pay".
I said I was aware that I would have to pay and then replayed what they had said i.e. so you can't help me and I have to ring Medway. They replied "yes, we can just go giving them out". I then said is this likely to be a quick process as I need them fairly quickly to which they said " I doubt it".
This is a member of staff in a public facing role who was rude and to say they were unhelpful would be an understatement!
I have had this radiographer x-ray me in the past and they were miserable on that occasion as well - if they can't be civilised when dealing with the public - perhaps they are in the wrong job.
I don't have a problem with being told that I need to contact Medway with my request but the way my call to Sittingbourne Memorial was dealt with was far from satisfactory.
"Rude and unhelpful x-ray staff"
