"Rude reception staff"

I rang the monkwearmouth hospital and asked to be transferred to the pain management clinic, when I got through to them I asked the person I spoke to if they could give me their email address, they very abruptly responded "I'm not giving you my email address". I explained it was the clinic's email address that I asked for, they then laughed and said they weren't the pain clinic department , I think they said they were anaesthesia, (although I couldn't be sure as the person was eating at the time), and to call back tomorrow when there will be somebody in, then hung up the phone, before I could ask for their direct dial number. I have never spoken to a more rude or unpleasant person before and am surprised someone like this is dealing with the public.
