I experienced outstanding care whilst delivering my second baby. Our midwife, Emily, was absolutely excellent and we felt cared for, supported and in expert hands. We also received superb care from the other midwives, nurses, anaesthetists and staff members involved in the delivery.
We were impressed with the level of professional dialogue between staff members clearly committed to self improvement and improving the care of their patients.
At no point during the ordeal of childbirth (! ) did we feel unattended to or dissatisfied with the level of care.
Our only concern was before the induction of labour took place - we came in as requested by the impact clinic, but the delivery ward was under so much pressure that we had to wait 24 hours before treatment could start.
This is absolutely not the fault of the staff members - we just feel sad that a city based maternity unit is under so much pressure with limited staff.
Once they let able to provide quality care, that is exactly what we experienced. I cannot praise the team highly enough, thank you.
"Oustanding care"
