(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

We had a Community meeting where issues can be raised as a group. The following issues were discussed:

• We would like to be able to keep Electric Razors in our rooms

• We would like all staff to knock before entering our rooms

• Lisa (Sports Instructor) came to discuss the benefits of sport on Mental Health

• Ideas were discussed to take to the 'safe space' event

• We would like to keep our mobile phones longer.

• We would be interested in Camping Trips and other outdoor pursuits.

• Better bedroom furniture

hi Thurland Ward

following this community meeting I met with the staff team and managers and we made a decision as the ward is a rehabilitation ward for you to have your electric razors back and they have since been given back to you. staff have also been asked at the ward staff meeting to knock before entering.

in relation to the other issues they were taken to the safe space event for further discussion and we are awaiting an action plan on some of these ideas such as keeping your mobile phones for longer and outdoor pursuits.

for the bigger issues such as better bedroom furniture - this has a bigger cost and as the ward is due to be refurbished in a couple of years this may have to wait until then but I will keep a list of wishes until then and when the time comes if you are still patients here I am sure you can be consulted.
