"Miscarriage evacuation of conception"

About: Salford Royal

To The Staff at Hope Hospital who looked after me, re: miscarriage and evacuation.

It has been a hard few weeks for my partner and i regarding our pregnancy.

I would like to say thank you to all the staff at Hope Hospital from start to finish, A&E with a nurse and a doctor who looked after me with a threatened miscarriage 3 weeks ago, the for an emergency scan the next day at EPU to find a heartbeat. My nurses and Sonographer, both so kind, caring and loving in their service. The nurse remembered me from a previous miscarriage a time before and that was very touching especially considering the amount of people they must see. Thank you

After 3 weeks of scans and bloods, the first two had heart beats and the 3rd with none, 14 days of bleeding, made yesterday a very hard day to handle. My doctor was assuring and patient, discussed with me all my options and advised me thoroughly to make the right decision with me and my partner. which was an evacuation of conception, which led me to the following day in emergency surgery.

i was taken through with the other ladies, at 7 am shown to my bed, after about an hour or so which i do consider reasonable waiting time as some may not, i was greeted first by a very nice person and then by another who was lovely.

(its still the same day and Im a but woozy so am trying my best to remember everyone's names and the order of the day)

All the staff have been amazing and really lovely, i was then greeted by my surgeon with a good sense of humour. I then met my anesthetist, who prepped me and pushed me through to the other side of the hospital talking all the way and wished me a good sleep, they assured me i was in good hands and i will be just fine. i then met the other staff, as well as the funny Doc Thank you for keepin me smilin when i was finding it so hard to do. They talked me through my procedure once again and counted me off to sleep. i came around in another room where i wish someone had filmed me, i bet that is the best part of the job sometimes, because at that time i didn't know why i was there, i awoke in a very relaxed and euphoric state which i was not expecting. thanks for the hug :) i wish you all, all the best and a very sincere thank you and keep doing what you're doing, because decent treatment like that makes a very hard, sad a fearful time so much easier, i hope i am not meet with this situation again, but if i am, or any other problem i will not be as fearful as i know i will be in very good hands with a team like you guys. Thanks again. Take Care xxxx

Kind Regards

Samantha Chandler (PS i am truly grateful to all at Hope Hospital, my place of birth in 1986 <3)

Thank you for telling us about your recent experiences Samantha.

I am glad that at such a difficult time, you felt you were treated with such care and compassion.

Our aim is to ensure we provide exceptional care in all of our wards and departments.

It was great to read such kind words about your treatment which I am sure the staff will be delighted to know - I’ve forwarded your comments onto the senior nursing teams for the teams you mentioned, who will share your feedback with their staff.

Thanks again for taking time to write your feedback and I hope you are recovering well.
