"Attitude of doctors and Test result not..."

About: Lister Hospital

I was admitted into Lister on the 18th of September after coming into the A&E.

Complained about pains in the ovaries and pelvic but was incorrectly diagnosed as Appendicitis hence was taken to General Surgery. Finally, they realised it wasn't Appendicitis and that I needed to see a Gynaecologist, but still didn't transfer me to the right ward. Took ages to be referred to a Gynaecologist and then forever for one to come and see me and I wasn't kept updated - had to be getting up to go and ask the nurses at their desk.

Finally a Gynaecologist comes to see and takes a swab test and says if I don't hear back then all is ok.

All for a month later I'm having the same pains and go to the GP and the GP tries to find the results of the swab test and there is no result.

They check with the receptionists to log into Lister's Database to get one and there is none.

All for one of the receptionists from the GP to call one day later to say that unfortunately, the test sample wasn't properly labelled and hence the guys at the lab didn't do the test.

Why would a hospital in this age and time not follow up on tests they have sent to the lab?

Why didn't the guys at the lab report back to say inconclusive?

Why wont a so called Gynaecologist who took the sample be unable to label a bottle easily - its been made so easy for them nowadays that they aren't even writing the name down - just paste the label on the bottle.

Now a month later Im having the same issues and thanks to a hospital they don't have the result of my test.

This is very appalling and how people die everyday. Have been to my GP and been told that I cant get an appointment with a Gynaeclogist for the next 8 weeks..

What happens to me between now and then.. I work and pay loads of money in NI and that covers my health bills and when you need urgent health care you cant get one.

Oh, I got to see a Gynaecologist the last time but they couldn't do their job properly..
