"accident and emergency visit"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a staff member posting for a carer/relative),

as a member of staff it was a very worrying experience having to bring my husband to be seen at accident and emergency. the department were having an extremely busy evening with every available seat and space occupied, however, each and every member of staff we encountered was very pleasant, helpful and supportive and always took time to explain what was happening and offer reassurance. thankfully after an overnight in ECU I was able to take my husband home.

Dear brilma

Thank you for getting in touch and for your positive comments in relation to you and your husband’s visit to the Emergency Department here at Wishaw General Hospital. I am sorry to hear that your husband took unwell and indeed hope he is recovering well. I have no doubt this was a very worrying time for you both.

Your positive comments are very welcome and I will ensure they are fed back to the staff in A&E who work so hard in ensuring the care we deliver to patients is of a high standard, as well as ensuring we keep family members informed, even during exceptionally busy times. I have no doubt they will be delighted for the feedback.

Best wishes to you and your husband

Faith
