"Went above and beyond"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

I have and inflammation and ulcers in my mouth and was sent for a biopsy and given a mouthwash to relieve the pain.

The mouthwash wasn't working so I called for another appointment.

When I arrived at the hospital I was told that I had been mistakenly given an appointment with the Chest Clinic instead of the Oral Surgery Clinic.

The Outpatient Receptionist saw that I was in pain and told me to wait in the lobby and they would see what they could do.

They went and spoke with the Oral Clinic and within minutes came back and told me they would work me in that day.

The receptionist could have just told me there were no appointments for that day, but went out of their way to make sure I was seen.

And the doctors and nurses at the Oral Clinic were so kind to work me into their already busy schedule.

I just wanted to say thank you to that receptionsit and the Oral Clinic.

You made me feel like I really mattered.
