What I liked

I was initially taken to A&E by ambulance - I was unable to walk and in some considerable pain. From the moment the paramedics picked me up from my home they were efficient and friendly and did all they could to allay my anxiety. When we arrived at A&E despite all the staff appearing to be very busy I was quickly attended to by a staff nurse and doctor who again were very efficient and very friendly. The doctor after ensuring that I was given pain relief took me to x-ray and ultrasound himself to quicken the admittance process.

I was admitted to ward 5. The consultant, specialist registrar, sisters and all other staff on ward 5 were excellent. Their care was professional and efficient. Everything was explained to me with the reasons why and I felt fully involved with the process at all times. My case was fairly complicated, having an involvement with a number of different consultants, despite this I felt that everybody worked as a team and that at all stages my best interests were being served. My experience of the other departments in the hospital included CT scan, TOE, ultrasound, x-ray, theatre and lately outpatients. In all cases I was continually impressed by the care and professionalism of everybody and would have no hesitation in recommending your hospital to anybody.
