I have been suffering and on going abdominal pain for months and my go won't do anything for me. After throwing up all night and screaming in pain I had to go up a&e.
I waited over an hour which was fine but everyone who came in after me was being seen before me. I went up to the reception and asked why this was and the receptionist said well you've only been here 10 minutes. I said there's no way I've been here 10 mins I've been here well over an hour and said well our screen shows us when we checked you in and you've been here 10 minutes. After much arguing I stormed off back to my seat. A few minutes later the receptionist came over and said, I'm sorry I was looking at the wrong person you have been here hours and your will be seen next... 5 patients before me later I was seen by the nurse who proceeded to tell me this is a place for emergencies not second opinions to leave and go to the gp. I am disgusted at the way I was spoken to and made to feel like my problems were nothing and asked why I was even there in the first place. Do you not think I would have gone to my gp if I could or if I even thought they were going to do anything. I then proceeded to see the dr who said exactly the same thing and said I think you have gallstones but you need an ultrasound but I can't give you one here. I asked what do you mean you can't give me one I'm in a hospital and they said sorry go see your gp and be persistent and they'll but you on a waiting list for one. I'm extremely shocked and angered that I was in that much pain in the first place to need to go to hospital and then they fob me off back to my gp when the dr there even told me what was wrong with me! So now I have to wait weeks for a scan and continue to not be able to eat and be in severe pain. I'm so disgusted by this attitude of the staff I don't even want to come back for my operation should i need one and I'll be going to Ipswich hospital. I've never had a pleasant visit here, it's not even the waiting times or that they are short of staff it's the way they spoke to me. Absolutely disgraced.
"In tears at the hospital with way I was spoken to"
