"ophthalmology"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

In April 2015 I was referred to LRI ophthalmology department for eye surgery. After waiting several weeks I decided to ring and enquire when my operation might be. After making 9 phone calls to 0116 258 5930 I gave up and contacted the consultant by email. The next day I received a call giving me an appointment date in June. This appointment was cancelled 4 times and eventually took place on 8th July 2015.

Although the surgery I received was first class, the administration of this department is a dead loss. I have since made 3 more visits the eye clinic each one taking around 3hours which I find totally unacceptable.

Yours Mrs P Halford

Dear Pauline,

We are very sorry to hear about the standard of administration provided by the department. We are happy to hear about the excellent surgery you received, so thank you for those comments. We would like to look into your concerns further in order to improve the service in future. Please could you send your details (name, address, date of birth and hospital number) to communications@uhl-tr.nhs.uk so that we can investigate further.

King regards,
