"My father's last days"

I cannot begin to say thank you enough to this remarkable hospital.

My father lost his incredible fight for life at the end of July.

The staff on Eliot Ward treated him with so much kindness, love and dignity.

They chatted and joked with him endlessly and were there constantly to help him.

When we knew he did not have very long left, the staff spoke to my family and I constantly, welcomed us into the ward for long hours every day.

They are kindness personified.

Nothing was too much trouble but they also left us to be alone when we needed to be.

For those who feel the need to complain about this remarkable organisation, let me say, when it really matters, when you need help, support and kindess in the depths of despair and grief, this hospital delivers in bucketloads.

You are all very special and my sister and I will never forget your dedication, kindness and support.
