"Poor service"

My husband is very sick and has been a patient at Tameside Hospital for many weeks. Finally, a long-awaited out-patient appointment at Christie's was arranged. The Ward Clerk booked an ambulance two days in advance 3hours earlier than the appointment time explaining that " Arriva are unreliable and often late". The clerk was spot-on there!

Stress levels rising we watched the time of our appointment come and go. Calls to Arriva made no difference. Finally, four hours late with no words of apology or explanation the driver and crew member arrived.

Thankfully, Christie's kept the clinic open for us and the brief initial consultation went ahead. However, to add insult to injury, the crew suggested to the consultant that they leave without us. Just what a sick man with a spinal fracture and his wife would do when they had taken their trolley and the clinic had closed I don't think they had thought through. Or if they had, they perhaps did not care.

This so-called 'service' left us feeling resented and worthless. Disgraceful.
