About: Friarage Hospital Site

(as the patient),

What I liked

I went into the labour ward to have my son, the midwives where all so upbeat and jolly it took my nerves away. After a long labour they encouraged me to give birth naturally just as i had wanted. After he came into the world one of the midwives noticed that i was deteirorating, losing blood very quickly, she didn't hesitate in her actions that probably saved my life. The room that i stayed in was nice and comfortable and above all clean. I thought the nurses, midwives and registars all worked together very well and i would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a hospital birth

Anything else?

I would like to say thank you to the nurse in the labour ward hopefully she'll still be there when i have my next!!

Congratulations on the birth of your son Donna. Thank you for your email about your labour, and I am glad that you have recommended the Friarage Hospital to future patients who are considering a hospital delivery. I have sent a copy of your comments to the Clinical Matron who will share these with her staff.

The Trust operates a ‘Thank You Award’ scheme where NHS colleagues, patients and relatives can nominate staff in recognition of their work. If you are interested in nominating the team, please contact the Staff Benefits office on 01642 854614 for further information.

Alternatively, we also welcome nominations for the Trust’s annual ‘Nightingale Awards’ which, once a year, recognise the important contribution nursing and midwifery make to patients and their families. This maybe something you may wish to propose Jaqui is entered for, further information is available from the Director of Nursing and Patient Safety office on 01642 854344.
