"The behaviour of nursing staff. ..."

About: University Hospital Of North Tees

(as the patient),

What could be improved

The behaviour of nursing staff. read patients notes even there name so at least you can see if they are Miss or Mrs. Feed the patient.

Anything else?

I was admited onto a ward in the trust. I was insulted and patrinised by a nurse asking if my mummy could bring my things in after the third time of me and my mother reasurring her I live with my husband and child. I was braught in food by family at 11am for lunch which was acceppted by the staff then I was not offered another meal in the hospital I had to request one at 9am the following day as I was extremely hungry. If I was a elderly person who was frail I worry for there recovery. I also waited 2 hours for paracetamol to bring down my temperature and once it arrived I had began to vomit and then the doctor had to prescribe IV paracetamol.

Dear anonymous

It sounds like we let you down during your stay in hospital and we share your disappointment because this is not the service we want for our patients. Without knowing which ward you were on it is difficult for us to try and find out why this happened but we are keen to resolve this with you.

If you would like to discuss your concerns please contact our patient advice and liaison service on 01642 624719 or 0800 092 0084 or by emailing PALS.NT@nth.nhs.uk.
