Dear Lee - We’re pleased you had a good experience when you were a patient at our hospital recently. Our staff pride themselves on being helpful and friendly so we’re glad this is what you found when you came into hospital.

Inpatient services for the comparatively small number of children who need an overnight stay in hospital were brought together at the University Hospital of North Tees two years ago. This was done because it was becoming difficult to run two separate children’s inpatient wards and to make sure they were always staffed with a dedicated team of doctors, nurses and other health professionals at all times. Having one ward for the children living in the area served by the trust ensures we can provide the very best service at all times, which is what children living in our area and their families deserve.
