"Exceptional. I hope!"

About: The Princess Royal Hospital (Telford)

This A and E department decided to discharge my Autistic Son who was suicidal because he was in the way.

They did not even allow him to telephone anyone, including the mental health crisis team and let them know they had done this.

Following a call from the crisis team who were looking for him in order to arrange for him to be treated they went and found him and allowed him to ring his mother.

I am not sure what happened to "duty of care" basic humanity and not being judgmental.

Presumably the day shift arrived saw a young adult in distress and assumed it was drink and drugs and kicked him out without even looking at his file.

I have now tried to ring the ward and complaints system several times and I can only use email or reviews if I wish to pay a compliment.

Well Done Telford Royal!

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your feedback following your son's admission to the A&E department at the Princess Royal Hospital.

We are sorry to learn of your son's experience and as you know are investigating this through our PALS department.

Kind Regards

Patient Experience Team
