"Very helpfull staff in all departments, ..."

About: University Hospital Of North Durham

(as a relative),

What I liked

Very helpfull staff in all departments, clean, and once inside the building it's a pleasant place to be.

What could be improved

Parking for the disabled, it is too far from the porters station, as I am caring for my disabled husband who is terminally ill. and can only walk shot distances

Anything else?

I 'the carer' asked for a porter i was in the disabled carpark and was told, health and saftey regulations prevents them from crossing over to the disabled area to help me, i struggled to push my husband up the bank to the drop off point where a porter met me to take over, my husband is a big man and i am only tiny, i have hurt myself badly. I know i could book an ambulance but as my husband was not too well that day he wished that i take him so he could return home quicker. As my husband is terminally ill his requests are paramount. The disabled carparking needs revewing before others like myself hurt themselves.

A badly thought layout for a Hospital.
