"Complete mess"

About: Leicester General Hospital

I have had 2 appointments at the pain management clinic as I have had 3 lots of surgery and numerous organs removed leaving me in agonising pain.

My first appointment was just over 2 weeks ago but sadly I was 20 minutes late due to an hour long journey taking 2 hours 10minutes. I phoned as soon as I realised I was going to be late only to be told they might not see me so I asked to be called back if they wouldn't see me so I could turn round and go back to bed, I didn't recieve a call so I continued on. I arrived at the clinic 20 minutes late and the lady on reception said it was ok as a lot of people had been delayed so she checked me in and told me to sit down. I was then summoned by a very rude nurse who in no uncertain terms told me they didn't care why I as delayed and that the Dr probably wouldn't see me! I waited a further 10 minutes then got called in by my Dr who went on to tell me because my pain was abdominal pain he wouldn't be able to talk to me today or start my case so I completely broke down as I was in agony from the drive and was exhausted from lack of sleep, he was very kind and considerate and offered me an appointment in 2 weeks time in his lunch break which I thought was very kind and thoughtful.

Appointment 2. My appointment was at 12:20 so I left home at 9:45 as I didn't want to be late again I arrived at the hospital just before 11 and proceed to wait out my time in the restaurant. I arrived at the pain management clinic reception at 12 o'clock and checked in. A much nicer nurse showed me to the second waiting room and asked me to wait. I waited 30 minutes and got called in by the kind Dr. I sat down ready to start the appointment only to look up and see that by the look on the Drs face something was wrong. He proceeded to tell me he couldn't help me today because he didn't have my notes. He tried very hard to apologise and had a great deal of empathy to the pain and frustration I was dealing with but once again sent me away but not before telling there is no point him seeing me before my next lot of surgery as there isn't enough time to treat me. He knew about the surgery at the first appointment but didn't mention it.

I'm horrified that no one thought to call me to tell me not to make the drive.

I'm seeing the PAIN management clinic meaning I'm in pain but you allowed me to waste my energy, time and money sitting and waiting in agony for nothing.
