After having breast surgery on 5-10-15 I was discharged 6-10-15, I felt suddenly unwell in the evening time and collapsed then an Ambulance was called. I was taken to the A&E at Aintree where all us patients who came in by Ambulance where lined up in a narrow corridor, the Ambulance people could not leave as us patients where on there trolleys (there is a different name for them) so this ties the Ambulances up until a patient is transferred onto a hospital trolley or bed. About 3 hours later I was put onto a hospital trolley freeing the ambulance up to go. I was taken into the Majors part right in front on the staff area where they get their aprons, gloves etc in view of everyone, I had no privacy or dignity. Questions where asked in front of everyone and some examinations done. The staff where run of their feet during what must have been the busiest time i have ever seen the A&E. I had brain scans, chest x-ray, bloods taken etc but was always taken back to the area in front of the staff gloves,aprons etc just as people walk into the majors part area. There is one Toilet in the Majors department which is Unisex, this is disgusting, no chairs for people who are with you, or no room for that matter! The actual A&E is upstairs but the part for Ambulances is lower for the majors. Its a disaster. I cannot fault the staff who where run of there feet but for myself their was no privacy or dignity. I hope to god I never need another Ambulance again as this was the worst experience for me especially being lined up in the corridor along with several other patients all bought in by Ambulance, tying the Ambulances up, now you no why you have to wait for an Ambulance as they cannot leave the hospitals.

Please do not tell me they are in the middle of a major re development as from what i have seen it is not for the best, one unisex toilet? The doctors were looking for a room to examine me but most rooms had someone in, eventually after getting examined I was taken back to that area again, and after all the tests etc I was discharged and was happy about that but the experience will stay with me for ever. My Husband, son, and parents all think its disgusting from the wait in the corridor to being moved into majors in front of everyone. Dignity should come first for every patient, it's a human right. Better management for the department and also to free up the Ambulances. Something also needs to be done as regards to the staff being verbally abused by people.
