"Maternity"

About: Brentwood Community Hospital

I have stopped getting my baby weighed here or at all. I'v told them my children are petit more than I care to remember.

They need to stop working from a weight height chart not all babys are the same. My mums 5 foot I'm 6foot my 14 year old is 5foot1 all different. If I was a first time mum id be leaving there in tears my baby's have never lost weight they gain very slowly. By all means take your children there if there under the line your wrong if over your making them fat. Please stop judging parents and putting them down. My children are happy strong clean and well loved there are people that have no qlue and need there help. Your there to help not to judge people all babys are different

My baby has been seen by my gp and nurses when he had his injections I'v told them and they said he's a strong happy boy even my gp told me their son was not a big feeder and like the same as my child feeds small and often nothing wrong with that. If they had it there way I'd be force feeding bottles on my baby in tears with both us crying.

Please other mums all babys are different don't get upset when they tell you that your baby is small and worse if there big please tell them to stop picking on people. Weigh ins more like judging and putting people down. We all no you don't tell them the real facts ie if you stared weaning early that's bad if your not weaning by 7 months it's all wrong. You do what's right for you and your child your mum you no best these people are not in your house

Thank you for your post relating to your baby and sorry to hear of the problems you have encountered although I do not feel this comment relates to any of our Trust Services as we do not offer routine weighing checks. If our Paediatric Outpatient department found a child small or underweight for feeding reasons we would refer to Health Visitors who hold their own clinics.

Maybe you need to direct these comments to them so that they can look into this for you and respond appropriately.

As I say, I am sorry to hear of your problems but on this occasion feel it would not be appropriate for me to to respond.

Wishing you well and hope you can feedback your comments to the appropriate service - I suggest you contact Southend Healthwatch who should be able to point you in the right direction if you provide them with all of the information.
