"I attended a Saturday appointment ..."

About: Macclesfield District General Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I attended a Saturday appointment at the dermatology department as I have severe dark patches on my face that would distress anyone at any age. I wanted to know why and what was causing this. The make doctor did not think any of this was important and perscribed a cream as a treatment. They took no ontice of my concerns and ignored my descriptions around my health as a possible cause. A nurse walked in interrupting with no explanation as to who or what they were doing there. My origins were then turned into a joke by the Doctor. I held back the tears trying to explain my situation in inteimate detail around child-baring issues to a complete stranger and side-kick. The doctor took a photographic picture of my face not explaining in full what they would be doing with the picture and said they were just popping out to show a colleague. Clearly this Doctor was a junior in their late 40's early 50's with little passion for the subject. I expected the doctor to state the problem and assure me that we would look at the best treatment available there to reduce if not get ride of the problem. Instead the docotr said that they wanted me to apply this cream for 12 months and another cream 12 months after that and monitor my progress by taking pictures!! The doctor said I would not be seeing them again and that my Doctor could pescribe the cream. Why o why on earth was I there.

What could be improved

Everything. The doctor and staff could have been more professional. There was no value in the experience or process. Their morgage was paid for another day that is all they were concerned about. (Disgusting behaviour). The Doctor should have made sure I was being treated professionally with a cure in sight. Not fob me off with 2 creams and say thats your lot! The consultation should have been planned and executed s if it were in a real hospital. Every step of this appointment was wrong from the way in which the doctor spoke to me, the lack of respect and dignity for me to the approach and methods they used to diagnose the problem. Highly inapproriate and inaffective as a hospital what is the point of it being there.

Anything else?

I sent my complaint in on Saturday and I have still not had a response so I am taking this higher.
