"Thank you to the paediatric team for our son's care"

(as a parent/guardian),

My son presented to ward 19 WGH this week. We were attended to promptly and efficiently. The reassurance we were given from the onset was phenomenal.

My 6 year old son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and within a few hours we were spoken to and involved in his care plan. We were moved to ward 20 and settled in. Following on from this, we were introduced to Diabetic team that would care for him.

I was amazed at the care provided and so thankful that this experience was in fact made bearable. From CSW to Nurse to Medics to Consultant the caring attitude and genuine attentiveness was above and beyond what we could have ever expected.

Of course, we will be in the system now for the rest of my son's childhood years and we are thankful for the great team of professionals that we have had the pleasure of meeting.

More often than not, people find the time to complain. We just want to give praise and thanks where it is due. A great team of staff and we are grateful to the NHS.

Dear thesasjnr

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about the care your son received from our paediatric team. It is so important that communication, co-ordination of care and support for children and their parents is of a high standard, particularly when children require care from a number of professionals. The staff work really hard to ensure that services work together and that children and parents receive the best care and support possible at what can be a particularly worrying time. I’m delighted to read that this was your experience on this occasion and would hope that this would continue to be the case through your son's ongoing experience of our services. I really value your feedback and hope you will continue to share your experience with us throughout his journey.

I will be delighted to feedback your experience to Senior Charge Nurse Buddy, ward 19/20, Team Leader Johnston, diabetic team and Dr Corrigan, Clinical Director who will in turn feedback to the staff.

Susan
