"Fantastic"

About: Wharfedale Hospital

I attended Otley minor surgeries 5 days after dislocating my knee and being sent away from Bradford royal infirmary without an xray, any form of support or any advice, not even a follow up appointment. I left Bradford on the day of my injury feeling confused and still in pain, struggling to walk and feeling like my knee might just dislocate at any moment. I decided to come to Otley for a second opinion and was amazed at the service I received, I was given a full examination followed by an xray which revealed I did in fact have a problem caused by the dislocation and it was at high risk of dislocating again with the slightest movement! I was fitted with a splint, given crutches and an appointment made to see an orthopaedic specialist...I was in the hospital just over an hour and left feeling relieved and much more comfortable!! Thank you

Dear Sarahmc

Thank you for taking the time to write to us.

It is wonderful to read that you had such a positive experience whilst in our care.

I have passed your kind words onto Local Care Direct who manage the minor injuries unit at Wharfedale General Hospital and have asked that they are shared with the relevant members of staff.

I do hope that your knee is now healed.

With kind regards

Rosie
