"complete sham"

About: Castle Hill Hospital

After having an operation to remove a growth on my thumb in april ( the operation was fine, staff on the day were fine) it was sent off for biopsy. I was advised i would be contacted via letter of the results within 8-12 weeks.

6 months later i am still waiting for these results. I have contacted the plastics department on several occassions. The first time i was advised the results were with the consultant and would receive a letter shortly ( by the consultants secertary) after a month of still not receiving anything and several unanswered calls later, i was then advised that i 'may have been missed or overlooked as we have new systems' the person I spoke to advised they had received lots of similar calls!

I was told to 'leave it with them' and they would speak to the consultant and have someone call me. 2 weeks later i am still waiting. I have called again today and cannot get through to anyone. The person on the switchboard was very helpful and put me through to PAL to launch a complaint. Hopefully my results are normal but 6 months of fighting to get results is not acceptable. This is peoples health you are playing with and every second counts. Sort it out!
