My son has two forthcoming hospital appointments; one with Orthopaedics and one with Audiology.
I phoned to see if at all possible I could get the Audiology appointment for the same day as the Orthopaedics appointment. Both appointments were weekdays which would have meant this would be two days that I would need to get time off work to attend these with my son, both appointments were mid morning which would have meant my son would miss two mornings at school. We have been waiting on this appointment for a while and didn't want to loose it so was happy to keep it as is if it wasn't possible.
Sorry for rambling on, but the reason that I came on to the site was to express my appreciation to the lady Sheena that dealt with my call. She works at audiology at Ayr Hospital. She was extremely helpful and nothing was a bother. She even moved his audiology appointment from the Crosshouse Village Clinic to the Main Hospital Audiology dept. so that both his appointments would be in the same hospital. Just fantastic.
Between me and my son we have had lots of appointments over the years and I always worry about getting time off, how we are going to get to the appointments and most of all, the outcomes of the appointments. This takes the pressure off.
Thanks Sheena, keep up the good work! :)
