I had 2 outpatient appointments yesterday (2/10/15) and I was extremely pleased with both of them. The first appointment was in the Endocrine Unit with a Nurse. The purpose of the appointment was to show me (& my husband) how to prepare & give an emergency
Hydrocortisone injection if I become poorly & need to use one. We also had the opportunity to discuss any concerns we have about my condition. Throughout my appointment we were treated with respect, empathy & dignity & left the appointment feeling reassured & totally supported. My second appointment was in the Diabetic department for a Pump Review with a Pump Educator. It was the first time I'd had a Pump Review, so I didn't really know what to expect. The time spent with the Pump Educator was encouraging, supportive & very informative. And again we were treated with respect, empathy & dignity. We don't live locally to Addenbrookes & have about a 90 minute drive each way. However, each time we leave following an outpatient appointment we always feel optimistic supported, listened to & safe in the knowledge that I am being cared for & supported by an outstanding team of professional people. Thank You!
"Outstanding!"
