"Absolutely shocking care"

About: Milton Keynes Hospital

I was admitted to sau on Tuesday to be given if antibiotics,staff are over run,I had a burst abcess and was waiting for surgery that day which was cancelled however the surgeon did ask the staff to clean and dress my wound to which I was given a clean gown and some padding only after 10 hours,whilst my little girl visited me unfortunatley she was sick all over me,my bed,the floor,my canular,again no help was offerd despite many staff seeing this,so myself and my hsuan cleaned it up with baby wisp as best we could however it's very concerning that in the next 24 hours the floor or any of the area was not cleaned at all by staff so I don hope any sickness was not spread as baby wipes don't kill germs,I would however like to compliment one of your staff nurses a was very attentive,respectful,caring and did their upmost to make sure the best care was given even though they spoke little English they did their best at explaining best they could, they seemed to be single handeldy running the ward,on I was then transferd to acu on Wednesday and I have to say the care on this ward is shocking,my wonderful consultant had instructed that I was given iv antibiotics everyday and on Thursday I was not given these at all despite being marked in my drug record I had been given these I had many witnesses to say I hadn't so delayed my treatment,you literary are left toy or own devices in there pressing the bell for staff assistance took on average 25 minutes to be answerd,I witnessed many things that where with other patients which I found heart breaking,before being admitted to hospital I was under the care or the tissue viability nurses and I feel I was given much more care in a 15 minute appointment with them than I had in the 4 days I was in hospital,iam thankfully now back under the care if these nurses and am very great full and confident that I will get much more care and results from these than in hospital,more time and nhs money should be out into this kind of care that gets results
