Nine week old baby screaming incessantly not taking feeds checked in front desk no problems sent to children paediatrics at 7.10pm told would triaged in 15 minutes!Forty minutes later spoke to nurse baby very distressed I asked to come in the area because waiting room extremely hot still no triage had to ask repeatedly to be seen 8.05pm finally see nurse put monitor on my baby foot to check blood pressure and heart it did not work unbelievable then put a strip of paper which was a thermometer under her arm it didn't work ten minutes later still trying to get machine to work! baby screaming me distressed staff indifferent.
Finally put in cubicle told waiting for Paeds doctor we would be next 45 minutes later no one came or informed us or asked if we ok baby exhausted asked several times when the doctor would see her told they're busy however not too busy to discuss their plans to go out wandering around with water bottle no eye contact no nothing
My baby had extreme colic and needed a drug you can only get on prescription we left at 9.45pm no prescription no help I asked five before leaving when would we be seen told there are other people here oh yes there but not 9 weeks old and all capable bar one of playing and running around
Would I come back or recommend no I came on advice of 111
But at least they got all my details on the system that really necessary i.e.fathers name and date of birth why?
