What I liked
My son is a regular patient on the childrens ward. We have always found the staff are friendly and helpful, the cleaners do a brilliant job. The playroom staff are fantastic.
Anything else?
I stay with my son on the ward, and rarely leave him. the only issue i feel needs looked at is that food is thrown away off the trolley and it could be given/sold for a small sum- to parents.
I fully understand that when the ward is full that there would be no food left to give to a parent but when the ward is empty i cant see this is a problem.
While in the ward with my son i spend a minimum of £100 in the shop/restuarant for the 2 week duration of our stay. We are in the minority having a 2 wk duration on the ward, but surely this is something that could be looked into and a parent who has a longer than normal stay on the ward could be either given tokens for the restaurant or given food on the ward.
For people with diet restrictions/allergies there is very little choice on offer in the shop /restaurant and this too is over looked.
