"A&E service - second to none"

After some nine months of investigations for various problems I had a quadruple bypass Tuesday 16 June (St Georges) and was discharged into my brother (and wife’s) care one week later on Monday 22 June.

The pain on discharge was horrendous, almost unbearable and on Wednesday 24 June I was taken to St Peters A&E with excruciating pain in my chest and no relief from the paracetamol given to me on discharge.

I was met in A&E with such care and consideration and all steps taken to ascertain the source of the agonising pain I was suffering.

The CABG was examined by Xray, scan, CT scan and more to ensure that all was well with the very recent graft.

All was found to be OK, hard for me to believe but … I was given stronger pain control which worked much better than the paracetamol previously provided.

The specialist staff that I met with that day were stupendous in their efforts, care, kindness and professionalism.

They are all a credit to St Peters hospital and the NHS.

They were all stars *****

People are often fond of knocking our local hospitals and the NHS.

Once again I have found St Peters rise to the “occasion” for which I say, Many thanks.
