"I chose Writington Hospital because ..."

What I liked

I chose Writington Hospital because of its excellent reputation and can honestly say it was the best choice. All the staff I had dealings with were very professional and courteous. Everything was explained in detail and any worries I had were treated with respect and addressed so that I was put at ease immediately. When the admission day arrived I was very nervous, but the staff soon put me at ease. Before and after the operation I was treated with great respect and the care was wonderful. In the recovery room I was given the phone when my husband enquired how I was, this not only helped me but also my family to know we could still be in contact and reassure each other. At my out patient appointment I was reassured that everything had gone really well and would been seen at the 12mth stage. The doctor also reassured me that if I had any problems to phone and they would bring the appointment forward. After 5 mths I phoned with a couple of concerns and was sent an appointment. The doctor was very infromative and explained that I would need the other hip doing soon and has arranged for me to be seen again in 3mths time to review and probably list me for the other hip. The doctor explained that although my other hip needed doing, my right hip was still in recovery. I have no problems having my left hip done and feel reassured with my previous experience at Writington.

What could be improved

Everything went smoothly from start to finish. I was treated with dignity and respect throughout and honestly cannot see where improvements can be made.
