I was booked for my first ever gastroscopy and found the staff and doctors very comforting. I went on my own so could not get an anaesthetic so the young doctor spend some time preparing me and taking me through the procedure during the initial consultation. Unfortunately it was tube strike day and the main consultant arrived late but the staff was professional and managed the situation well by keeping the waiting patients informed.
The procedure was quick and the tipp to just keep on breathing deeply really helped so overall the gastroscopy was probably not they most pleasant test i ever had but it was by far not the worst. Thanks to the endoscopy team for being supportive and taking the time to explain everything and stay calm even when the day started with a major delay.
