"C Diff"

(as the patient),

My mother in law was old but primarily fit, but suffering from an acute chest infection. She was admitted and eventually discharged a week later suffering from hospital acquired C Diff, although the test was never actually done until she was readmitted a week later. She eventually died, legally from a stroke (occurred while in hospital) and the C Diff. in my opinion the nursing care that I saw could at times be best be described as benign neglect. Having C Diff she was 'isolated' but I saw few staff taking the required hygiene precautions. I felt the consultant, when he was there, was full of hubris and self importance.

I was disappointed in the extreme. The contrast with the care that my father in law, dieing from cancer, experienced in his home setting by the community team could not have been more bleak.
