"First time mummy and lonely"

About: Pleasley Hill Children's Centre

(as the patient),

Becoming a first time mum I thought it was going to be a breeze and that I knew all I needed to know about babies, turns out I barely knew anything at all and being the only person within my social circle to have a baby I became rather lonely and confused on how to help my baby progress.

Then we was introduced to baby massage at Pleasley Hill Children's Centre at first I was very nervous and shy as I am not very confident in meeting new people, but all the staff and other massage member were extremely welcoming made me feel part of the group instantly which was a huge relief from that session we also joined an afternoon playgroup with lots of other mums this has boosted my confidence immensely my baby enjoys play time with other babies and I'm able to gain knowledge from experienced mums in how to help my baby's progress I no longer feel alone I am very grateful to have a centre like Pleasley Hill Children's Centre at the top of my road it's easy to get to and a lovely relaxing place to be.

Thank you for sharing your story with us, it sounds like you have grown in confidence, which is really good to hear. Many parents do find it difficult to attend something for the first time, but I am pleased to read that you did attend and it sounds like you have both benefitted from it. I hope that you continue to access the services and look forward to hearing more about your journey.
