"Waiting nearly a year"

I have been waiting for wisdom tooth extraction for nearly a year. After being messed around between clinics for several months, I finally had an appointment to see a consultant regarding the surgery last month. I had a call on the day from the hospital to cancel it and it was rebooked for the following week. I attended my appointment and was told I would need another pre-op appointment which would be booked over the next couple of days. That was three weeks ago and I've heard nothing. The smell of body odour in the consultant's office was so bad that I actually had to say something to the receptionist on duty.
