"Respiratory Care"

About: Freeman Hospital

For the past year I have been treated at the Freeman Hospital respiratory medicine department.

I have suffered for many years with bronchiectasis and pseudomonas.

prior to this I was very poorly on a number of occasions every year possibly having up to 5 or 6 flare ups of quite serious infection.

These resulted in some 14 day hospital stays for I.V's something I hated.

Since attending the Freeman we have been taught how to administer our own I.V's at home which has made life far easier.

This is however not the most important area, the team in respiratory care treat you as an individual, involving you in the decision making regarding your treatment. All those involved from the consultant to the specialist nurse and the team on ward 29 have made our lives much easier,

I hope to be able to continue working with them for many years to come.

Thank you for the positive comments received in relation to the care you have received from the Respiratory Team at the Freeman Hospital.

Our staff work hard to ensure patients are comfortable and involved in their care and treatment, and it’s most encouraging to read that this was your experience.

We will ensure your kind words are fed back to the Respiratory Team and let them know your appreciation of their efforts, as I know they will be greatly encouraged by such positive feedback.
