"Dire Accident & Emergency waiting room"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

I went to this hospital for suspected stroke. I felt dreadfully ill and really wanted quiet and to lay down. I was left in the waiting area for several hours. It was the nastiest, noisiest area I have ever had the misfortune to be in. The seats are in conjoined rows of up to 6 chairs and every single movement made by one person makes a terrible squeaking noise. Imagine that magnified by 30 or so people. It was unattractive and unclean. The receptionist spent more time chatting to a workman than to the people waiting at the desk. The nurse in triage was sullen, uncommunicative and barely looked at me the whole time. They had the doctor's letter in front of them but couldn't be bothered to read it. The doctor was nice and efficient but was obviously struggling to cope. I was asked to wait outside again for results and these took another hour or so. I felt like crying. Unless I am literally dying, I will not go to that hospital ever again. What amused me was that there were 100's of 'satisfaction forms' strewn over every surface and most of the floor. Zero stars
