My wife and I would like to thank everyone at the Maternity Unit for the outstanding level of support and care we received during our son’s birth. The labour was long and difficult, beginning in the Birth Unit, but having eventually to move downstairs to the Delivery Suite when we weren’t progressing according to plan. Both areas of the hospital were impressively equipped, immaculately clean and had a quiet, positive and caring atmosphere. The midwife support we received was second to none, they cared for both of us continuously for what seemed like the longest day of our lives. Nothing was too much trouble, every procedure was clearly and carefully explained and every question answered. Their dedication, professionalism and skill is a tribute to this hospital. They even came up to the Maternity Ward the next day to see how we were doing before we left.
Complications with our son’s eventual delivery resulted in a neo-natal emergency and the immediate response of 10 additional staff within a moment of being called. I have no doubt that if it weren’t for their expertise and quick reactions, we would not be sat here as a family now. I will never have words enough to praise them for what they have done for us. To all there, we can only say Thank You.
