I left a review regarding two days ago regarding the treatment of my mum whose dignity was not respected. The ward in question was AMU room 1. Following on from this she had to move to free up the room for someone in A&E which is understandable. However, my complaint is asking her to pack all her belongings and take down to the her ward. A side affect of cancer is numbness in handa and feet which she has informed the hospital about. How can she carry her own belongings when she has been admitted with a severe bowel infection?
Secondly, my sister checked with staff to see if my mum could have tap water from her room. Staff said yes. When mum was in new ward my sister asked again but this time staff said oh no, fresh water from the kitchen. When my mum was admitted to the new ward her notes were not forwarded on so staff did not know what medication she was on, what medication she had. It's extremely disappointing and heartbreaking to see the manner my mum has been treated. All patients deserve and have a right to quality care.
