The hospital referred me to the hospice while I was having treatment for cancer. I go to the day centre there one day each week.
It’s a first class service, they are professional and organised and there are lots of nurses there to look after you.
I’m enjoying the arts activities in the afternoons. I never had time for these things before but I’m really starting to enjoy it. You also get a lot of time to chat and a lot of time to eat; the food is so good. I used to really enjoy the gardening but it’s taking too much out of me now. The staff always find other things for you to do. The entertainment is good, people playing music and singing, everyone enjoys it.
I took a bad turn one day at home recently and my wife phoned the hospice, they were a great support.
The staff are brilliant, including all the staff in the kitchen. The hospice is tops, I don’t see any way for improvement.
