"My views and wishes weren't even considered"

About: University Of Bristol Dental Hospital

i attended this hospital after being referred by my dentist. I've been to other dental hospitals. But I've never felt so disrespected as I did here.

I have several mental health conditions including dental and needle phobia. I was only initially given the chance of just having a local injection for the extraction which is like asking too much of me. When I suggested that in the past i had extractions under GA I was told this was not possible and instead was told I could have IV sedation I reluctantly agreed and instead of being ok with this the dentist made me feel like they were doing me a favour by doing this and that I was asking too much. I was given minimal information on the risks and have such spent the last month struggling with a relapse and panic attacks leading up to my appointment and so much so I'm probably going to cancel it to save my sanity. Very unimpressed by the lack of care and compassion in outpatients.
