"Early signs of stroke not recognised"

About: Royal Gwent Hospital / General Medicine

(as a friend),

My friend was admitted suffering from stomach pains, told it was kidney stones and sent home still in agonising pain without any pain relief or advice. Scan results days later showed she had fribroids but also a infection which had to be dealt with first. A course of antibiotics was then prescribed but feeling so unwell she had to stay at the hospital in a extremely depressing hospital room. Days later with no feel of improvement she was sent home. She was feeling terribly unwell, constantly feeling sick, they changed her sickness tablet which did seem to help. Then she has a phone call saying she has to come back in after a test result she was admitted once again with having high calcium in her blood, she then loses the use of one of her arms and collapsed whilst going to use the toilet, fortunately her mother was with her and helped to get her back to the ward. Their explanation to her arm was that it was a side effect of the sickness tablet so they stopped her having that and said the effects will wear off after 48hrs but that wasn't the case as she started showing all the early signs of a stroke, her daughters knew these signs and asked for help at 5pm. it wasn't until 8. 30pm that any help was offered and as a result she has had a stroke. Everyone knows that catching a stroke in its earliest stage is vital. Yet where were the staff to save her??
